Ladyjacks Fall to Wildcats

The DCB Ladyjacks volleyball team concluded their four-game road trip to start the season Tuesday night. DCB fell to the Wildcats of North Dakota State College of Science.

The first set saw NDSCS jump out to an early lead of 13-9. DCB responded with a 4-0 run to tie the game at 13 all. The set then went back and forth until a late Wildcat surge put them in control and able to win the set 25-19.

In set two both teams came out ready to play, neither team wanting to concede momentum. The difference maker in the set would come with NDSCS leading 11-9. At that moment, the Wildcats proceeded to go on a 13-4 run to put them in position to win the set. The Ladyjacks answered with a quick 4-0 run of their own, but it was not enough as the Wildcats were able to take the set 25-17.

The Ladyjacks were unable to get any momentum on their side in set three. This allowed the Wildcats to pick up the set and match 25-14.

With the loss DCB falls to 2-2 overall and 1-2 in the Mon-Dak. NDSCS improves to 6-0 overall and 3-0 in the Mon-Dak. The Ladyjacks finally get their home opener next week with a pair of games Tuesday and Wednesday against Miles Community College and Dawson Community College. Game times are set for 7:00p.m. both nights from the Woodshed.
