Lumberjacks Season Ends in Region Semis

The United Tribes Thunderbirds would knock down 17 3-pointers and shoot 53% from beyond the arc in the game ending the Lumberjacks women's basketball season by a score of 97-78. In the Region 13 Semi-Finals 

The Jacks would hang with the Thunderbirds after one quarter trailing 24-19. A 8-2 run to start the second quarter would give the Jacks the lead. Through much of the rest of the teams would trade baskets resulting in multiple ties. A 9-3 run by the Thunderbirds over the final three minutes of the period would give them a 44-36 halftime lead.

In the third quarter UTCC started on a 10-0 run. This momentum would be something the Lumberjacks would struggle to overcome. UTCC outscored DCB 36-14 in the third quarter. The Lumberjacks were able to get some momentum on their side in the fourth quarter winning the quarter 28-17. The deficit would be to much for the Jacks to overcome falling by a final score of 97-78.

Hanna Plumbtree was the games co-high scorer and led five Lumberjacks in double figurers off the bench with 22 points. Plumbtree also snagged 11 rebounds for a double-double. She was joined in double figures by Amari Butler who finished with 15points, Kiara Comeaux added 14 points off the bench, Rozalind Strong finished with 11 points in her final game as a Lumberjack, and BrandeeRhae Mays added 10 points. Tyleigh Brady led the Thunderbirds and was the games co-high scorer with 22 points.
