Sophomore catcher Sky-Lyn Karonis has signed a NAIA Letter of Intent to attend and play softball for Tabor College in Hillsboro, Kansas.

Karonis hit .263 for the Ladyjacks with a .398 on base pct.  Karonis attended Green Valley High School in Henderson, Nevada before joining the Ladyjacks in January of 2019.

She will still have three seasons of eligibility with Tabor due to the cancellation of the 2020 season due to the Covid-19 Epidemic.

"Sky had a lot of really big hits for us in 2019.  She hit a walk-off double to win the third game of a best of three against NDSU to put us in the Regional Tournament for the first time in school history.  She is a really nice kid and I know she is very excited to continue her student-athlete career at Tabor, stated Head Coach Mike Smith.

Karonis is excited about the opportunity at Tabor.  "Even though Covid-19 cut my sophomore season short I still kept positive about the opportunity to keep playing.  Our coaching staff worked harder then ever to help the sophomores with their upcoming student-athlete careers.  They made sure we had everything we needed.  I'm just thankful for the coaching staff and the team for all the memories, even though our season was cut short."

Fellow sophomores Michelle Krahn, Savannah Fabro, and Ladaija Fitzgerald had previously signed NAIA LOI's.  Teammates Elisa Clay, Stephanie Ahmed and Destiny Lewis are close to making a decision on their futures.  Sophomore catcher/OF Claire Hiebert will be returning to DCB for a third year (second season of softball) to complete her RN degree.
