Jacks Get Extra Inning Win Over Williston

The Ladyjacks traveled to Williston State to take on the Tetons in a four game series.  The Jacks have struggled in the past against WSC, but this time things were going to change.

In Game 1,  WSC Softball and Dakota College  traded the lead back-and-forth, but eventually WSC prevailed 10-3 as they knotted the game up at three in the bottom of the fifth inning. The Tetons secured the victory thanks to seven runs in the sixth inning.

Tascha Livingstone took the loss for the Jacks. She pitched five and two-thirds innings, giving up ten runs, seven hits, and striking out two.  The girls collected nine hits with Lauren Mach and Tascha Livingstone each collecting multiple hit. Victoria Gullett led DCB with two runs batted in as she went 1-for-2 on the day.

 In Game 2, Monique Camarillo gave Dakota College Bottineau fits, as she bagged four hits in the Tetons 11-6 victory. Dakota College took an early lead in the first inning as Victoria Tolle homered on a 1-2 count in the first inning, scoring two runs. WSC took the lead for good with six runs in the second inning. Camarillo doubled driving in two runs, Stewart singled driving in one run, and Nicole Frederiksen walked batter to drive in a run. 

Nicole Frederiksen took the loss for Dakota College at Bottineau as she tossed six innings, surrendering 11 runs, 16 hits, and striking out two. DCB collected 11 hits. Rayla Marema, Nicole Frederiksen, and Tascha Livingstone each collected multiple hits while Tascha Livingstone led the Jacks with three runs batted in. She went 2-for-4 on the day.

In Game 3, It came down to the last play, and the Ladyjacks were on the right side of an 8-7 victory. The game was tied at seven with the Jacks batting in the bottom of the eighth when Rayla Marema singled off of Madison Raynaud, driving in one run. The Tetons collected 11 hits and DCB had 14 in the high-scoring affair. WSC took an early lead in the first inning. Meghan Hunt singled on a 1-1 count in the first inning, scoring one run and DCB scored five runs in the sixth inning

The Ladyjacks big inning was driven by a double by Victoria Tolle, and a single by Nicole Frederiksen. In the top of the seventh inning, WSC Softball tied things up at seven and scored one run when Raynaud singled with two outs in the seventh inning.

 Tascha Livingstone earned the win for DCB as she tossed eight innings, surrendering seven runs, 11 hits, and striking out three.  Victoria Tolle, Jacie Ceglowski, Halle Khalifa, and Rayla Marema each collected multiple hits for the women.

 In Game 4, DCB scored four runs in the third inning, but WSC Softball was able to still get the 17-5 victory on Sunday. The Ladyjacks took an early lead in the first inning by scoring one run when Victoria Tolle singled with two outs in the first inning. WSC took the lead for good with two runs in the second inning. In the second Raynaud doubled off of Nicole Frederiksen, driving in one run and Kortney Perkins doubled off of Nicole Frederiksen, driving in one run.

 After the Tetons scored four runs in the top of the third, DCB answered with four of their own. The Tetons scored of a doubled driving in two runs, a single driving in one run, and another single driving in one run.

The Jacks then answered scoring two runs on an error and Tascha Livingstone hit a sacrifice fly to drive in a run.  After that, it was all WSC as they scored eight runs in the sixth inning.

Nicole Frederiksen took the loss for Dakota College at Bottineau. She tossed five and two-thirds innings, surrendering 17 runs, 17 hits, and striking out one.

Dakota College collected five hits. Victoria Tolle and Jacie Ceglowski each collected multiple hits.

The Ladyjacks will next travel to Grand Rapids, MN to play against some Region XIII competitors,  the Itasca CC Vikings.
