Jacks Sweep Mystics

The DCB Lumberjacks completed the three-game series sweep of the Bismarck State College Mystics with an 82-70 victory Thursday night.

The Jacks offense got rolling early with a 14-4 run to start the game. The Mystics rallied back with a 10-3 run to bring them within three. From that point it was a back and forth first half. Late in the first Connor Trahan heated up knocking down three consecutive 3's to help stretch the Jacks halftime lead to eight at 44-32. Brendan Redhead led the DCB offensive attack in the first half with 14 points, Trahan had 11.

The Jacks offense kept rolling in the second as the pushed their lead to 24 just before the halfway point of the half. It was a balanced attack that allowed the Jacks to take full control as six Jacks had at least four points in the half. BSC attempted to make late comeback cutting the lead to 10 late but time would run out and DCB would get the win 82-70. After struggling on the defensive side of the ball the last handful off games the Jacks held BSC to just 40% from the field for the game.

Brendan Redhead led four Jacks in double-figures with 23 points. Connor Trahan dropped in 18, Jacob Smith had a perfect night shooting from the floor and scored 12 points, and Loukas Triantis added in 12. Max Tschosik led BSC with 15 points.

With the win the Jacks move to 18-7 overall and 11-5 in the Mon-Dak. DCB travels to Montana Sunday and Monday to take on Miles Community College and Dawson Community College with tip offs set for 2:00p.m. (CST) and 8:30 (CST) respectively.
