The Jacks Fall in Back-And-Forth Affair Against Dawson

|Glendive, MT|

The Lumberjack baseball team traveled to play against Dawson CC in a four game game stand for Mon-Dak Conference rankings.

In the final game of the final day, the Jacks needed to win at all costs to make the trip worthwhile.  With that being said, even though the Jacks and Dawson both had their opportunities, it was Dawson that eventually prevailed 9-5 on Saturday. The game was tied at five with Dawson batting in the top of the seventh when the Bucs singled off of Nick Sumstine, driving in one run.

After Dawson scored one run in the top of the fourth, the Jacks answered with one of their own. Dawson scored with a single off of Nick Sumstine, driving in one run. The Jacks then answered when Jordan Padilla hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored.

Nick Sumstine took the loss for the Jacks. He tossed seven innings, allowing nine runs, eight hits, and striking out 12.

Stephen Thornton, Padilla, and Sumstine each drove in one run to lead the Jacks.
