An early lead helped Dakota College at Bottineau defeat Hibbing Community College 8-2 on Tuesday. Dakota College at Bottineau scored on a double by Victor Terrero and a single by Justin Horvath in the first inning.

Hibbing Community College captured the lead in the first inning. Hibbing Community College scored one run on a stolen base in the first inning.

After Hibbing Community College scored one run in the top of the fifth, Dakota College at Bottineau answered with one of their own. Hibbing Community College scored when Gates singled off of Nick Sumstine, driving in one run. Dakota College at Bottineau then answered when Tyler Legault singled off of Robinson, driving in one run.

Dakota College at Bottineau took the lead for good with two runs in the first inning. In the first Victor Terrero doubled off of Robinson, driving in one run and Justin Horvath singled off of Robinson, driving in one run.

Dakota College at Bottineau scored four runs in the fourth inning. The big inning was thanks to a single by Jordan Padilla, a walk by Jordan Welcome, and a walk by Victor Terrero.

Jordan Padilla, Victor Terrero, and Justin Horvath each drove in two runs to lead Dakota College at Bottineau.

Jacks will next travel to Williston on 4/1 to open up Mon-Dak Conference play.
