Beavers Sweep Lumberjacks

The Lumberjack women's hockey team was swept by ACHA D1 Minot State this weekend 9-3 and 4-1.

9-3 loss

The Beaves would get on the board first. Kindal DeGraeve would tie the game up with an unassisted shorthanded goal. Before the period ended Minot State would score again to go up 2-1 at the end of the period. Michelle Landsverk would tie the game halfway through the second period off a Trinity Tanner assist. Unfortunately, from their it would be all Beavers as MSU would score seven unanswered goals. Abby Forest would get a late goal with assists coming from Macy Wither and Tanner on a powerplay opportunity. When the final horned sounded Minot State would come away with the win 9-3.

4-1 loss

In Sunday's game MSU would score once in the first and three times in the second period to take a 4-0 lead into the third period. McKenna Walls would get the Jacks only goal of the day unassisted late in the third period. The Beavers would complete the weekend sweep with a 4-1 victory.

With the loss DCB drops to 4-6. With Minot State being an ACHA D1 team the losses will not affect the Jacks in the rankings. The Jacks closes out the first semester at home Saturday against the Royals of Lake Region State College. Puck drop is set for 3:00p.m.
