Jacks Fall to Jimmies

The DCB women's hockey team dropped a pair of games to the University of Jamestown Jimmies 5-1 and 3-1 this weekend.

5-1 Loss

After no scoring in the first period both teams got things going in the second period. Jamestown would score four straight goals to take a 4-0 lead. Jenesha Hammond got the Jacks on the board in the final minute of the second period, Michelle Landsverk picked up the assist. UJ would add one more goal in the third period to win the game 5-1.

3-1 Loss

Jamestown scored two goals in the first period to take control of the game. The Jimmies would add to their lead in the second period making it 3-0 Jimmies. Hammond would be the one to put DCB on the board for the second straight day, this time on a powerplay opportunity McKenna Walls and Jayden Carels picked up the assists. Neither team would score in the third and Jamestown would sweep the weekend with a 3-1 victory.

With the loss DCB falls to 2-2 on the season. However, UJ is an ACHA D1 team so the losses will not affect the Jacks in the regional rankings. Next up for DCB is a home and home series with Lake Region State College. Friday's game will be in Devils Lake starting at 5:40p.m. Saturdays game in Bottineau will start at 4:00p.m.
