Women's Hockey Season Preview

Coming off a loss in the National Semi-Finals a season ago the Lumberjack Women's Hockey team returns with a lot of experience and with the goal of being in contention for a National Championship.

The Jacks return 16 players from last seasons squad and four of those sixteen were on the team that lost in the National Championship game two seasons ago. Among the returners is Michelle Landsverk who led the team in points a season ago with 15. Kindal DeGraeve returns for a second season after totaling 8 points a season ago as a freshman. Trinity Tanner returns for DCB Tanner was named to the ACHA All Tournament Team the last two years at the National Tournament. The Lumberjacks also bring back experience in net with all three goaltenders from a season ago back on the squad this year.

Here are some comments from Coach Loucks, "the team is looking very good again this year with a good core group coming back. We are big, fast, and physical, with our depth and competitive level this year, we have high expectations once again."

DCB opens their season Thursday on the road as part of a doubleheader against a familiar opponent in other sports, but new in hockey, the Lake Region State College Royals. Puck drop for the Women's game is set for 5:40p.m. in Devils Lake. The Jacks first home game is set for November first also against Lake Region.
