Kindal DeGraeve opened the scoring Sunday afternoon with a powerplay goal with the assist coming from Jasper Devloo. The Ladyjack penalty kill was on point Sunday afternoon shutting down every powerplay attempt the Cougars had after one period DCB led 1-0. DeGraeve netted her second goal of the contest five minutes into the second period to double the Ladyjack lead at 2-0. Kylie Lagerquist was credited with the assist. As the teams headed to the lockerrooms for the second intermission DCB held a 2-0 lead. The Cougars ended the shutout with 11:26 to play making in 2-1. As time ticked away the Ladyjack defense held strong and goalie Kara Zelyck was great in between the pipes. The Cougars pulled their goalie with just over a minute remaining. Skating 6-5 the Ladyjacks continued to persevere. With the puck in the attacking zone Devloo scored an empty netter off an assist from Jenna Moormann just before time expired giving DCB the 3-1 win. Winning goalie Kara Zelyck had 40 saves.

Here is what coach Reed Loucks had to say after the weekend split, "the ladies played very smart defensively and that helped us wear ACC down. We played meat and potatoes hockey, keeping it simple and doing all the small things right."

With the split DCB moves to 7-5 overall. The Ladyjacks are currently ranked 2nd in the ACHA West Region Rankings behind ACC. DCB will close out Smokey's week hosting NDSU Saturday and Sunday. Puck drops are scheduled for 7:00p.m. and noon.
