Ladyjacks Handle Bulldogs

The DCB Ladyjacks got back to their winning ways scoring 14 goals in two games to defeat Minnesota Duluth 7-2 and 7-5 respectively.

7-2 Win

Madison Crawford got the soring going for the Ladyjacks scoring with just under 13 minutes to play in the first period, Jayden Carels was credited with the assist. Jasper Devloo gave DCB their second goal of the period with assists coming from Kindal DeGraeve and Crawford. Minnesota Duluth was able to cut the lead in half with a goal of their own. After one period the Ladyjacks led 2-1. The Ladyjacks were able to take full control of the game in period two scoring two goals to stretch their lead to 4-1. Jenna Moormann found the back of the net less than three minutes into the period, Madison Thompson and Kirra Montrose assisted. Late in the period Crawford scored her second goal of the game. Quick back-to-back unassisted goals by Kylie Lagerquist and Devloo would make the DCB lead insurmountable. The Bulldogs would get one goal back, but Abby Forrest netted the final Ladyjack goal of the evening, assisted by McKenna Walls and Michelle Landsverk. Hannah Funk was the winning goalie.

7-5 Win

The Ladyjacks jumped out to a quick lead in the first period with a goal by Jasper Devloo, Kidal DeGraeve was credited with the assist. The Bulldogs pulled even late in the period. The Ladyjacks jumped back out in front with a goal by Jayden Carels that was unassisted. DCB kept the scoring going with Michelle Landsverk lighting the lamp, Kylie Lagerquist and Karyssa Watson were credited with the assists. The third Ladjacks goal of the period was scored by Madison Crawford to give the Ladyjacks a 4-1 lead. The Bulldogs responded with three straight goals to tie the game at 4 all heading to the third period. Landsverk scored her second goal of the game to put DCB back out in front for good. Mckenna Walls gave the Ladyjacks an insurance goal with assists coming from Abby Forrest and Landsverk. Jayden Carels netted her second goal of the period of the game on an empty netter. Duluth would find the net one more time for a final score of 7-5. Jacey Larson got the start in goal. Kara Zelyck came in the second period and got the win.

With the sweep the Ladyjacks move to 6-2 overall and will be back in action after the holiday break.
