Jacks Drop Two Mon-Dak Games

The Lumberjack volleyball team dropped a pair of Mon-Dak Conference games Tuesday and Wednesday night, first falling to Williston State 3-1, then being swept by Bismarck State College 3-0.

3-1 Loss to Williston State

In set one the Tetons and the Lumberjacks went back and forth. The Tetons would eventually build a narrow lead. A late rally by the Lumberjacks would see them have the opportunity to win the set, but it was not to be as Williston State would take set one in a 28-26 thriller. Set two would see DCB struggle to get momentum on their side 25-17. The Lumberjacks turned things around in set three and jumped out to a 6-0 lead. The Jacks were able to maintain their lead throughout the set going on to win 25-17. Set four was much like the first set with both teams vying to get momentum on their side. WSC would eventually build a narrow lead and go on to win the set and the match 25-22.

Taelyn Kanoa-Tilton led the team with 12 kills, she was joined in double figures by Amariah Logue and Kiara Comeaux with 10 each. Julia Lindemulder and Hailey Jonker each had 16 assists. Daelyn McGregor snagged 24 digs; Kanoa-Tilton also added 20 digs to her stat line.

3-0 Loss to Bismarck State College

In set one the two teams would jockey for momentum early on, eventually the Lumberjacks would be able to build a slim lead at 12-9. The middle part of the set would be controlled by the Mystics as they would take control and eventually win the set 25-20.  Set two saw BSC build a sizeable lead of 20-11, a fierce Lumberjack rally would get them within striking distance of the Mystics before eventually falling 25-20.  In the third set the Mystics took control from the get-go and never looked back winning the set and the match 25-12.

With the losses DCB falls to 0-6 overall and 0-2 in Mon-Dak play. Next up for the Lumberjacks they continue their conference homestand with games against Dawson Community College on Monday and Miles Community College on Wednesday game times are set for 7:00p.m. both nights.
