Lumberjacks Fall to Wildcats on the Road

Turnovers would be the Lumberjack women's basketball teams Achillies heal Wednesday night as the NDSCS Wildcats would force 25 turnover enroute to a 93-69 win.

The Lumberjacks would hang right with the Wildcats in the early going. A 19-10 run over the final five and half minutes of the first quarter. After ten minutes NDSCS held a 32-19 lead. The Lumberjacks struggled to find a groove in the second quarter as NDSCS started the second half on a 15-4 run. DCB got things going in the last five minutes of the second half outscoring the Wildcats 15-11 over the final five minutes. At the half the Wildcats held a 58-38 lead.

DCB struggled coming out of the locker room as NDSCS started the second half on an 18-8 run. The Lumberjacks were held to just 12 points in the quarter. In the fourth the Lumberjacks got some momentum on their side and were able to hold NDSCS to just nine points in the quarter, but the deficit was to much as the Wildcats would take the win 93-69.

Hanna Plumbtree led three Lumberjacks in double-figures and all scorers with 23 points off the bench. Rozalind Strong scored 19 and Amari Butler finished with 13. Shania Nichols-Vannett led the Wildcats with 16 points.

With the loss DCB falls to 14-14 overall and 8-11 inside the Mon-Dak. The Lumberjacks host United Tribes Wednesday night at 5:30p.m. A Jacks victory means the Jacks would host the Thunderbirds in the first round of the region tournament next week.
