First Half Struggles Hinder Ladyjacks

In a game that was a tale of two halves the Ladyjacks fell to the Mystics of Bismarck State College 95-67.

For the third consecutive game DCB had just five available players. The Mystics came out in a press and forced 11 Ladyjack turnovers. The turnovers along with just a 33% field goal percentage allowed BSC to take a 34-11 lead at the end of the first quarter. DCB took care of the ball better in the second quarter with just two turnovers. The Ladyjacks shooting struggles continued in the quarter though as they shot just 27%. At halftime BSC led 55-26.

The second half was a completely different half. In the third quarter the Ladyjacks played right with the Mystics including a 7-0 run by DCB. As a team the Ladyjacks shot 58% from field. Jacie Hall paced DCB in the quarter with 14 points, Lexie Nelson added 6. DCB outscored BSC in the quarter 24-22. After three the Mystics led 77-50. The Ladyjacks played right with BSC again in the fourth quarter with both teams going back and forth. Nelson led the Ladyjacks offensive charge with 7 points in the quarter, Alyssa St Pierre added in 5. When the buzzer sounded BSC won by a final score of 95-67.

Jacie Hall led the Ladyjacks with 31 points and 15 rebounds. She was joined in double figures by Lexie Nelson with a career-high 13 points all coming in the second half and Alyssa St Pierre with 12 points. Ashton Kinnebrew led the Mystics with 21 points.

With the loss DCB falls to 6-19 overall and 0-16 in the Mon-Dak. Next up the Ladyjacks are back on the road for a pair of games in Montana take on Miles Community College on Sunday at 12:00p.m. (CST) and Dawson Community College on Monday at 6:30p.m. (CST)
