Ladyjacks Fall to Royals

The Ladyjacks were again shorthanded with only five available players. Despite a valiant effort they fell by a final score of 79-58.

The Royals used their depth to race out to a 15-0 lead. DCB was able to respond with a 7-0 run of their own to cut the lead in half. Over the course of the final four minutes of the quarter the teams went back and forth after ten minutes LRSC held a 22-12 lead. The second quarter was much like the second half of the first quarter as the Ladyjacks traded baskets with the Royals. It was a big half from Koylynn Gulliford that kept the Ladyjacks in it as she had 18 first half points. at the break LRSC led 46-23.

Jacie Hall would knock down a top of the key three early in the third quarter to cut the LRSC lead to just ten. The lead would stay around that ten-point mark for the remainder of the quarter. Despite a nine-point quarter from Hall DCB was unable to get the deficit to single digits. After three quarters the Royals held a 60-46 lead. In the fourth quarter depth for the Ladyjacks became an issue as LRSC was able to stretch their lead in the final stanza outscoring DCB 19-12 in the quarter going on to win by the final of 79-58.

Jacie Hall led three Ladyjacks in double figures with 21 points and 12 rebounds. As of this writing Hall leads the Mon-Dak in scoring and rebounding and ranks 9th nationally in scoring.  Koylynn Gulliford also had a double-double with 19 points and 10 boards. Alyssa St Pierre added in 12 points. Tiziana Huici led all scorers with 26 points.

With the loss DCB falls to 6-18 overall and 0-15 inside the Mon-Dak. Next up the Ladyjacks travel to Bismarck State College game time is set for 5:30p.m.
