Ladyjacks Struggle on the Road

The DCB Ladyjacks dropped a pair of games on the road this weekend falling to the University of Jamestown JV 68-57 and to Bismarck State 76-42.

For the second time in eight days the Ladyjacks took on the Jimmies. The Jimmies were firing on all cylinders in the first quarter while DCB struggled to score. After one quarter the Jimmies led 22-8. DCB found a grove in the second quarter outscoring the Jimmies 16-14 but still trailed 36-24 at the half. The Jimmies took full control of the game in the third quarter out scoring DCB 21-12. The Ladyjacks defense locked in for the fourth quarter holding Jamestown to just 11 points, but the deficit was to much and the Jimmies would hold on to win 68-57. Jacie Hall led the Ladyjacks with 28 points. Koylynn Gulliford joined her in double figures with 12.

The Ladyjacks and Mystics went back and forth early in the first quarter Jacie Hall scored six straight points for the Ladyjacks as they trailed the Mystics 7-6. From there poor shooting turnovers and Bismarck State offensive rebounds piled up for the Ladyjacks. BSC outscored DCB the remainder of the quarter 15-0 to take a 22-6 lead at the quarter break. DCB's struggles continued in the second quarter as the Ladyjacks shot just 14% from the field in the first half and trailed 42-15 at the break. The struggled continued in the third as DCB was held to single digits for the third consecutive quarter. The fourth quarter was a bright spot for the Ladyjacks as they played even with the Mystics. Bismarck State would win the game 76-42.

The Ladyjacks shot just 17% from the field in the game and gave up 19 offensive rebounds. Jacie Hall led DCB with 21 points and 10 rebounds. Rozalind Strong led the Mystics and all scorers with 22 points off the bench.

With the losses the Ladyjacks fall to 4-10 overall and 0-7 in the Mon-Dak. DCB returns to action after the holiday break with a pair of non-conference home games against Canadian Mennonite University and Trinity Bible College.
