Hall’s Big 4th Quarter Lifts Ladyjacks over Mikinocks

The Ladyjacks used a fourth quarter rally to get by the Mikinocks of TMCC and win their season opener 64-60.

Sabra Peterson got things going for DCB in the first quarter knocking down three 3-pointers and was able to give the Ladyjacks a 16-10 lead at the quarter break. The Ladyjacks controlled the glass and played strong defense to give them a 31-22 halftime lead. In the third quarter TMCC got hot hitting four straight 3-pointers to bring them with in one of DCB. The bright spot in the quarter for the Ladyjacks was Koylynn Gulliford who had six points in the quarter and would finish the game with 12 points. As the quarter came to a close the Mikinocks ratcheted up the defense and got a couple of quick buckets to give them the lead. TMCC outscored DCB 23-12 in the quarter to give them a 45-43 lead. The Ladyjacks came out with and answered the TMCC third quarter run with a run of their own to start the fourth. Jacie Hall went on a 8-0 scoring run on her own to give the Ladyjacks the lead for good. Hall would score 12 points in the quarter to propel DCB to the win in their season opener 64-60.

The Ladyjacks were led by Sabra Peterson and Jacie Hall each with 20 points. Aiyanna Viver led TMCC with 13 points. With the win DCB moves to 1-0 on the season. Next up for the Ladyjacks is an in-season Mon-Dak Conference Tournament in New Town. DCB plays Dawson Community College in the first round.
