Ladyjacks Claim Third Game in a Row

It's early in the Ladyjacks' season and the team is off to a great start. This past week the Ladyjacks defeated Mon-Dak opponents Dawson Community College at the Woodshed on November 11th & United Tribes Technical College in Bismarck on November 13th.

To start this week DCB stepped out of Mon-Dak play and traveled to Ellendale to play Trinity Bible College. The first three minutes of the game saw the Ladyjacks come out slow to score. After taking a moment to regroup, DCB would come back to finish off the first quarter strong. The second quarter saw a surge from the Ladyjacks, extending the lead to double figures at 23-12. From there, DCB could not keep the momentum going, causing the lead to dwindle to a halftime score of 31-23. The start of the third quarter began with a scrappy Lions team clawing back to tie the game up at 34-34. DCB would get the offense going again, outscoring the Lady Lions 32 to 25 the rest of the way to come away with a 67-57 victory in Ellendale to win their third game in a row.

Leading the way in the scoring column for the Ladyjacks was Maria Moore (22), followed by Sabra Peterson (15) who also added in 6 assists. Coach Johnson commented, "Maria had a tough time getting shots to drop early but stayed tough and came through with some big buckets when we needed it." When asked about game's determining factors, Coach Johnson stated, "We did well with their press and came away with a +10 differential in turnovers. That, along with the difference in three-point shooting were certainly the determining factors in the game."
