DCB hosted Bismarck State Monday night at the Woodshed, but after a close first quarter, BSC exploded for 28 points in the second period and the Ladyjacks could never make up the difference in faling to the Mystics 90-53.

The Ladyjacks actually played well in both the 1st and 3rd quarters, but Bismarck State scored 56 points combined in quarters 2 and 4 to pull away.  DCB was outrebounded in the game 48-26 by the bigger Mystics and that led to a lot of second chance opportunities by BSC.  Trinity Goggles had another solid game with 14 points and 11 rebounds despite going down with an injury in the 2nd half.  Lauren Gangl and Jayla Howard each scored 11 points for DCB.

From Coach Johnson; "We certainly started out much better than in our first meeting.  I thought we did a pretty good job of defending their inside game early.  Had we been able to execute better offensively we could have gone down in great shape at halftime.  We came out in the second half and played much better early and cut the lead to 14 points.  BSC got on a run just at the end of the 3rd quarter and pretty much put the game away.  Tough loss and we have little time to regroup as we are scheduled to play again Tuesday night."

DCB will have another home game Tuesday night, February 11th, facing Trinity Bible College in a non-conference battle.  The Ladyjacks then turn around and head to Montana Wednesday afternoon for a Thursday contest at Miles CC, the team right behind leader Bismarck State in the MonDak standings.  Game time for the TBC game will be 5:30 in the Woodshed.
