The Lumberjack Softball team opened their season going 1-3 against Mon-Dak Conference foes in non-conference action inside the softball dome at Minot State.
9-8 victory over Lake Region
After being down 5-0 the Jacks tallied four runs in the top of the third to cut the deficit to one at 5-4. Emma Rybchinski drove in tow runs, while later in the inning Darcie Rae also singled and drove in two runs. The Royals would get the lead back to two runs at 6-4 with a run in the bottom of the fourth. The Jacks got back to within one when Rae drove in her third run of the game. LRSC pushed their lead back to two runs at 7-5 in the bottom of the 5th with another run, but DCB didn't go away. Emanuell Weber would reach on an error and allow Ava Flannery to score bringing the Jacks back within one run. The ensuing at bat Adyson Brady would drive in Weber to tie the game. After Zoe Romero moved Brady over to third, a fly out by Laila Romero allowed Brady to score and the Jacks to take the lead. Rae would drive in another run to give the Jacks a 9-7 lead. LRSC would score one run in the bottom of the inning, but the Jacks would hold on for the 9-8 win. Delani Tweed earned the win in the circle.
15-1 loss to Bismarck State
Zoe Romero and Eveleana Parker each had a hit and Rybchinski drove in the Jacks lone run.
30-0 loss to Miles
The Jacks totaled for hits in the contest two each from Zoe Romero and Jamaica Cheatham.
13-3 loss to Williston State
Rybchinski had three hits and two RBI's while Laila Romero had one of each. Zoe Romero, Brady, Parker and Cheatham each had a hit.
The Jacks are now 1-3. DCB travels to the Jamestown dome for three games next weekend.
