Lumberjacks Grab First Win of the Season

On Wednesday afternoon the Lumberjack Softball team was able to break through and pick up a 5-4 win over the Williston State Tetons on the road.

The Tetons would take an early lead of 1-0 after one inning. The Lumberjacks would tie the game in the top of the third after Lexie Nelson tripled and later came around to score. WSC would retake the lead in the bottom of the third at 2-1. The Jacks would come back to tie the game in the 5th on a Hannah Funk double that scored Isabelle Mercier. DCB would take their first lead of the game in the top of the 7th inning after Kindal DeGraeve singled and drove in Nelson. The Jacks would extend their lead to 5-2 after Darcie Rae drove in Kiara Comeaux and DeGraeve giving DCB a 5-2 lead. The Tetons would get within one in the bottom of the 7th but DCB would hold on for the 5-4 win. Funk picked up the win in the circle and struck out  7 Teton batters.

The Jacks have a home and home series with the Royals of Lake Region Saturday and Sunday. With Saturday s games in Devils Lake and Sunday in Bottineau.
