The Lumberjack Men's Basketball team saw their season coming to an end Saturday in the Region Semi Final 64-57 to Dakota County Technical College.
In a game that was a defensive slugfest from the get-go saw very little separation. The largest lead for either team was three possessions. At halftime the Jacks trailed the Blue Knights 32-29. In the second half both teams offensive struggles would continue, but eventually DCTC would stretch their lead to 10. The Jacks didn't go away, however, getting the deficit down to three in the final minutes. Unfortunately, the Jacks couldn't execute on the offensive end of the floor and would fall by a final score of 64-57. DCB held the Blue Knights to 36% shooting while only shooting 40% themselves. The key came at the free throw line however as the Jacks shot 54% and DCTC shot 77%.
Brayden West-Linnett knocked down 5 three pointers and lead four Lumberjacks in double figures and all scorers with 17 points. Jalen Blanchard finished with 14 points. Phil Gibaut added 11 and Cael Simpson dropped in 10. Lorenzo Levy led DCTC with 16 points.
The Jacks season ends with a record of 16-15. Stay tuned to DCB Athletics social media channels for any postseason awards.
