Jacks Use Deep Ball to Down Mystics

 After finding themselves down double figures early in the first half the Lumberjack Men's Basketball team would rely on the long ball to defeat the Bismarck State College Mystics. The Jacks would knock down 15 three pointers enroute to a 82-70 victory

As the first half neared the halfway point the first half the Jacks found themselves down 26-13. Then the Jacks started to heat up Jalen Blanchard would knock down one of his five three pointers to get DCB rolling DCB would knock down 10 first half three pointers and go on a 32-14 run to close the final 10 minutes of the first half. At the half DCB led 82-70. The Jacks offense kept rolling in the second half thanks to a lift from Max Morgan off the bench who scored 11 points in the half. Brayden West-Linnett went 2-2 from beyond the arc to keep the Jacks hot shooting up. In the end the Jacks would get revenge from their buzzer beating loss at home to the Mystics a few weeks prior taking the game 82-70.

Blanchard led all scorers and four Jacks in double-figures with 19 points. West Linnett finished with 15 points on five 3-pointers. Morgan scored 14 off the bench and Phil Gibaut finished with 10. Carter Zeller led the Mystics with 14.  

This was the final scheduled match-up between the two teams as Bismarck State will leave the Mon-Dak at the end of the school year and transition to a four-year institution and join the Frontier Conference. This is a trip Coach Sorby, and the Jacks will miss as in their last four trips to the Armory on the campus of BSC the Jacks have gone 4-0 and knocked down 55 3-pointers, shooting nearly 50% from beyond the arc.

With the win DCB improves to 16-11 overall and 3-8 inside the Mon-Dak. The Jacks take on United Tribes on the road later tonight. Tip-off is set for 7:30p.m.
