Jacks Can't Overcome Late Royals Run

A 27-5 run over the final ten and a half minutes would spell trouble for the Lumberjack Men's Basketball team as they fell by a final score of 84-67 to the Royals of Lake Region State College.

The first half was tightly contested as there were six ties and four lead changes. The Jacks used a balanced attack as four players combined for 27 points. Jalen Blanchard and Ricky Adams combined for 15 off the bench in the first half and Moustapha Diomande and Edward Lual each had six. At the half the Royals held a 45-40 lead.

The second half would start out tightly contested again. DCB would build their largest lead of the game at 62-57 with 12 minutes remaining. After some defensive stops on both ends of the floor the Royals would start on their 27-5 run to close the game. The Jacks shot just 28% from the field and 22% from the free throw line in the second half. LRSC would go on to win the game by a final score of 84-67.

Shaun Armstrong led the Jacks with 12 points, Lual and Blanchard joined him in double figures with 11 points each. Poet Davis led the Royals and all scorers with 33 points.

The Jacks fall to 15-11 overall and 2-8 in the Mon-Dak. DCB travels to Bismarck State College Sunday game time is set for 3: 00p.m.
