After a competitive first half the Lumberjack Men's Basketball team couldn't keep up with a hot shooting Miles Community College Pioneers in the second half falling 95-71.
After a back and forth first half the Pioneers went on a 7-2 run over the final 90 seconds of the first half to take a 44-38 halftime lead. Jalen Blanchard and Phil Gibaut paced the Jacks with 12 and 11 points respectively.
The Jacks were able to get the deficit down to two at 46-44 in the opening three minutes. The Pioneers responded with a 12-3 run over the next three minutes to take a 58-47 lead. The Jacks would be unable to dig themselves out of their double digit deficit. As the Pioneers went on to shoot 59.5% from the field in the second half. The Jacks shot a solid 46.7% from the field but committed 10 turnovers compared to just 5 for MCC. In the end the Jacks would fall by a final score of 95-71.
Blanchard led four Lumberjacks in double figures with 16 points. Gibaut added 13 and Shaun Armstrong and Edward Lual each had 10 points. Yohandy Ortiz led the Pioneers and all scorers with 25 points.
The Jacks fall to 14-9 overall and 1-6 in the Mon-Dak. DCB hosts Trinity Bible College in an exhibition game Wednesday night. Tip-
