Second Half Shooting Struggles Cost Jacks

Shooting just 24% from the field and 15% from beyond the three-point line in the second half resulted in a 90-60 loss for the Lumberjack men's basketball team in their Mon-Dak conference opener Wednesday night against Williston State College.  

The first half was a back-and-forth affair that saw 10 lead changes and 7 ties. The Jacks offense ran through Jaden Arzola and Shaun Armstrong combined for 22 of the teams 36 first half points. The Tetons took a 40-36 lead into the locker room.

Shooting struggles doomed the Jacks in the second half. Going 7-29 from the filed 24% and 2-13 15% from beyond the arc. Phil Gibaut was the bright spot in the offense with 7 points.  Meanwhile the Tetons shot 58% from the field and 62% from 3 allowed them to take full control of the contest.  WSC outscored DCB 50-24 in the second half in route to a 90-60 victory.

Arzola and Armstrong combined to lead the Jacks with 13 points each. Gibaut joined them in double figures with 12. Eden Hobbs led the Tetons and all scorers with 18 points off the bench.

With the loss DCB falls to 13-4 overall and 0-1 inside the Mon-Dak. DCB is next in action Sunday at Lake Region State College. Tip-off is set for 3:00p.m.
