The DCB Baseball team saw their season end Saturday afternoon at the hands of Williston State College. The Jacks dropped the first two games of the best three series by a final score of 9-1.
In game one the Jacks had just hit one from Dominic Holmstrup and one from Engerben Moreno which would drive in Holmstrup. Kaeden Wilcox would pick up a stolen base in the contest. Nathaniel McGill recorded two strikeouts as the starter and Derek Borino also had two strikeouts in a relief appearance.
In game two the Jacks were able to collect eight hits but were able to push just one run across the plate. Dalton Vangorden had the RBI. Kaeden Wilcox stole his 20th base of the season tying a DCB single season record held by Dylan Dougher who stole 20 bags in the 2017-18 season. Joe Plett also picked up a stolen base. Owen Taylor had two strikeouts from the bump. Bryce Meyers added two more in relief.
Wilcox led the team with 50 hits, 7 doubles, 3 triples, 4 home runs, 35 RBIs, and as mentioned earlier 20 stolen bases. Kayden Cey led the team in runs scored with 40 and batting average hitting .351. McGill threw the most innings for the Jacks with 38.2 IP. He also led the team with 26 strikeouts. Borino who threw just 19 innings, had 23 strikeouts for a K/9 average of 10.71. Meyers led the team in ERA with a 4.34.
