The Lumberjack Men's Hockey team earned a weekend split with NDSU to earn their first win of the season. In game one the Jacks fell 9-4 in game one before winning game two 4-0.
9-4 loss
In game one NDSU got on the board first with a goal 66 seconds into the game. Wyatt Curtis opened the scoring for the Jacks with a powerplay game, Nick Cofer was credited with the assist. Tyson Wildeboer put the Jacks up 2-1. Thirty seconds into the second period the Bison evened the game. Less than a minute and a half later DCB took the lead back while on the powerplay, Jacob Measel found the back of the net with assists coming from Logan Mantell and Jace Thompson. For the rest of the game, it was all NDSU as they scored seven unanswered goals to take a 9-3 lead. Ethan Unger got one more goal for the Jacks with another powerplay goal late in the third period, Mantell and Thompson picked their second assists of the game. The Bison would win by a final score of 9-4.

DCB got on the board three minutes into the game when Dodge Long scored his third goal of the season, Riley Opperude and Thompson were credited with the assists. Cofer extended the lead to 2-0 with an unassisted goal. After no goals in the second period the Jacks entered the third period with a 2-0 lead. DCB put the game away with a powerplay goal from Long late in the third period, Curtis and Jeremy Klimchuk picked up the assists. Charlie Heimbecker added one goal for good measure less than three minutes later Alex Lorenz and Measel snagged the assists. DCB blanked NDSU 4-0. Rylan Labrie picked up the win in the net with 30 saves.
With the win DCB moves to 1-3 overall. The Jacks hit the road for three games in Texas. Friday taking on TCU, Sunday at East Texas Baptist and Monday at SMU.
