Jacks Extend Win Streak

The Lumberjack Hockey team extended their win streak to four game Friday night with a 6-2 win over Williston State College.

The Jacks opened the scoring early when Leighton Holstein found the back of the net less then two minutes into the contest off an assist from Logan Mantell. Just past the halfway point of the first period the Tetons evened the game with a goal of their own. Late in the first period Mantell put the Jacks back out in front with a goal Holstein and Phillip Parisien were credited with the assists. Just 95 seconds later DCB used a poerplay opportunity to double their lead Matt Olson lit the lamp off an assist from Rory McNabb. After one period the Jacks led 3-1. 

The Jacks were back on the powerplay early in the second period. Tyson Pringle got in the scoring column off an assist from Brett Janssens. Williston State would answer with a powerplay goal of their own to make the score 4-2 DCB. The powerplay goals were done yet as Parisien net himself a goal off assists from Ryan Patterson and Olson. After two periods the Jacks were in full control holding a 5-2 lead. About halfway through the third period DCB added an insurance goal from Aiden Morelli. Dale Kjorstad and Riley Rybchinski picked up the assists. The Jacks would win by a final of 6-2. Billy Patmore picked up the win between the pipes. DCB outshot WSC 43-33 and capitalized on three of six powerplay chances whereas the Tetons were one of three on their powerplay tries.

With the win DCB moves to 11-17-0-2 overall. It is currently to be determined weather or not the Jacks will add another regular season game or not. If not next up for the Jacks will be the ACHA West Region Tournament in Salt Lake City, UT more info on that will be provided when it comes available.
