DCB Volleyball Beats Lake Region

Devil's Lake, ND - The Dakota College at Bottineau women's volleyball team traveled to Devil's Lake, to take on Lake Region State College. The Ladyjacks won the 5-set contest (25-23, 25-23, 23-25, 23-25, and 15-11). DCB moves to 2-10 on the season and 2-5 in Mon-Dak play. 

It was a back and forth contest the entire match. As the scores show, it was a neck and neck battle to the finish. In the last set, the Ladyjacks got down early with a score, 4-8. DCB rallied and finished the game on 11-3 run to win the match. It was a busy week for the Ladyjacks, they competed in 4 games in 7 days. Coach Scherr was very proud of the energy the brought and that they played with so much heart.

Victoria Obergfell led the balanced attack with 18 kills while Quinn Billaney added 14. Abbey Franklin was the one to set these two up and others tallying 22 assists. Defensively, Tascha Livingstone had 28 digs and Rebecca Helmeczi led the team in solo blocks with 2. 

They Ladyjacks are in action again on Wednesday, October 4th, at 7:00 PM in the Woodshed. They will face off against Mon-Dak opponent, Williston State College. DCB lost the first time these two teams met back in early September.
