Head Coach Mike Smith has announced three new signees to the DCB Ladyjacks volleyball team for the 2020 season.

The Ladyjacks continue to add International players with the addition of Chante Moore of Barbados and Brielle Webb of Manitoba, Canada.   Also joining DCB is Bailey Hufschmidt of Spring, Texas.

Moore is a 5'10" Middle currently attending Christ Church Foundation School.  Moore was familiar with DCB and contacted Coach Smith about playing for the Ladyjacks. "I knew about DCB via my former teammate Shonte Seale.  She shared her experiences with me".  Moore added she liked the diversity of the school, the small atmosphere and "everyone is helpful and friendly.  Advisors are super helpful in both class and personal needs."

"Chante gives us another big jumper and will give us the block that we are losing with the graduation of Tiandre (Stuart) and Lexi (Gullett).  She is focused and wants to excel here in Bottineau, stated Smith.

Brielle Webb comes to Bottineau from Sanford, Manitoba a small town about 3 hours northeast of Bottineau, She plays for Sanford Collegiate where she played in the 4A Provincial Championships.  That's were Coach Smith saw Webb play for the first time.  "I was at the tournament to watch Amy Lewis, who had previously signed, and a middle that I was interested in.  She stood out as an OH and had all the qualities you look for in a college player.  I spoke to her briefly once her team was eliminated and the rest is history," added Smith.

Webb, who plays club volleyball for the Bandits Volleyball Club 18U based out of Winnipeg, was chosen to play in the Volleyball Manitoba Senior All-Star game for the top 1A-4A players in the province. (Lewis was also selected)

"Playing in that game is a great accomplishment.  Only 24 Seniors are selected form all four divisions in a province were the high school and club volleyball is very strong," Said Smith.  "Brielle will compete for a spot in the front row and was a solid 6 rotation player in high school and club."

Hufschmidt is the second Texas high schooler to sign with the Ladyjacks this winter.  Hufshmidt joins her club teammate DeeJanae Buggs on the roster.  She attended Klein Collins High School in Spring, Texas.  The 5'7" outside hitter is also a 6 rotation player and coach Smith believes she will help the Ladyjacks in many ways.  "Bailey will compete for a spot at OH but can play in the back row and has a great serve.  She came for a visit, driving with her mother and sister all the way from Texas in the middle of January.  That shows you how much she wants this opportunity.  A real nice kid that adds to a very talented group of recruits."

Notes:  The ladyjacks have almost completed their 2020 schedule that kicks off with a conference game at home August 26th against their rival Lake Region State College.  The Ladyjacks will play at tournaments at Anoka-Ramsey in Minneapolis, NIACC (Iowa), and at Lake Region.  The final schedule will be released February 1st.
