The DCB volleyball team could easily be 4-0, instead of 2-2.  Both losses in the early season were 5th set tie breakers, a 15-11 loss to Lake Region State College last Wednesday at a packed Woodshed and a heartbreaking 16-14 loss to Assiniboine Community College last night in Boissevain, Manitoba.  Between those tight losses the Ladyjacks picked up wins this past Friday at home against Assiniboine in straight sets 3-0, and Trinity Bible College 3-1.

Freshman Shonte Seale led an improved Ladyjacks attack with 53 kills in 17 sets for a team high 3.12 kills per set.  Sophomore transfer Tiandre Stuart is next with 26 kills while sophomore OH Michelle Krahn sits next with 25 kills followed by freshman Masaya Archbold with 21.

Freshman setter Sam Harris has been a big part of the team's early season success dishing out 116 assists in just 17 sets. She has pitched in on the defensive side as well picking up 24 digs, third best on the team and rare for a setter.  Sophomore Karrien Marteniuk has carried the load at Libero for the Ladyjacks and has been very good.  She has 47 digs, 11 assists and is tied for the team lead in aces with 7. (Harris and Seale alos have 7)

Middle Stuart leads the team in blocks with 16 followed by Seale's 9.

The Ladyjacks will be in action Wednesday night in Bismarck as they play theiir second MonDak conference game.  They will travel to Wahpeton Friday to take part in the NDSCS tournament.  They will play two matches Saturday and two Sunday before returning back to Wahpeton to play NDSCS on Tuesday September 17th.
