DCB Volleyball Adds Tennessee Recruit

Rachel Brown of Memphis, Tennessee has agreed to play this fall for the DCB Ladyjacks volleyball team.

Brown, a 6'2" Middle/Right Side graduated from Gateway Christian School in Memphis and played club volleyball for Premier GCV.

Brown was an NCHVS All-Tournament player her Junior and Senior year.

Brown had a serious knee injury in March of her Senior year and sat out the past year attending her local Junior College.

"I have been recruitng Rachel for a while now.  With her size had she not had the injury she had she likely would not have been available to us as 6'2" players are a hot commodity.  I stayed in touch with her and once she was healthy and back on the court I made her an offer and she accepted.  We are really excited to have her in Bottineau and she seems like a great kid that will fit in well with our group."  Head Coach Mike Smith.

Brown is excited about the journey ahead of her.  "For a while I thought I wouldn't play again but thankfully coach Smith offered me a spot on the team and I am thankful.  I have so much more of this game left in me and I am not ready to be done.  I'm used to the big city life of Memphis and moving to Bottineau might be a bit of a culture shock but I'm always down for new things.  I can't wait to be back on a team, work with my new teammates, and kick some butt.  I've been off the court for too long!"

The Ladyjacks will begin training August 7th with their season to begin in late August.  Stay tuned for more player announcements and the release of the 2019 schedule.
