Quinn Billaney officially signed the paperwork making her a member of the Minot State University Beavers for the 2019 season.  Billaney, a DCB captain, played two years for the Ladyjacks playing both as a power and as a Libero.  She will compete for a starting position as one of MSU's Defensive substitutes (DS) for next season.

Billaney was injured late in the year and played only 13 of the team's 30 matches.  At the time of her injury she was described by Head Coach Mike Smith as the team's best player.  "Quinn deserves this opportunity.  She worked hard every day in practise to the point where I needed her on the floor at all times." stated Smith.  In the last 4 matches before her injury she had 72 digs in just 16 sets.

Billaney came to the Ladyjacks from Boissevain School in southern Manitoba.  As a freshman she also played basketball and softball.  " To be able to play all three sports and be as successful as she was in the classroom tells you the type of student/athlete they are getting", added Smith.

Billaney was one of only three sophomores on a very young Ladyjacks team.  She was called upon to be a leader and thats what she did.  Smith describes her as "a leader on the court, off the court and even after she got hurt it was hard to keep her off her feet.  She wanted to come on all the road trips and was there on the bench contributing what she could.  She is a great kid and I have no doubt she will be a very successful student-athlete at MSU!"
