The gym was loud and the home town Ladyjack volleyball team was hoping to keep their playoff hopes alive but it was not to be as they dropped all three sets to the Miles Community College Pioneers by scores of 25-19, 25-19 and 25-22.  DCB played well but just couldn't seem to keep a lead.  The Ladyjacks are mired in an eight game losing streak.  A streak that has seen them play well at times.  "We are an improved team but still going through some growing pains.  We are playing 11 freshman regularly and they are getting experience that will help them in the future", explained Head Coach Mike Smith.  "The support from the community and from fellow athletes has been awesome and I know that we are putting a quality product on the floor, still it would be nice to pick up a few more wins at home, added Smith.

The ladyjacks had 27 digs with Freshman Ashlynn Starry picking up 6 and fellow freshman Karrien Marteniuk also getting 6.  Starry and sophomore Abbey Franklin shared setting duties and each picked up 9 assists.

The teams top hitter, freshman Michelle Krahn had 8 kills with fellow freshman Kiara added 5 kills. Starry added a season high 3 service aces.

The Ladyjacks will travel to Bismarck on Wednesday for a 7:00pm conference match against the Mystics.

Injury update:  Freshman Libero Sarah Marshall aggravated a rib injury on early in the second set and was not able to finish the set.  She is doubtful for Wednesday.  Sophomore Libero Quinn Billaney has been out since September with an upper leg injury. Freshman Middles Amy Stolz and Lexi Gullett are playing through injuries and are expected to play Wednesday.
