It was a huge game!  After the Ladyjacks volleyball team beat Williston State at home on September 26th for the first time since 2008, you knew the Tetons would be fired up to avenge the loss. They came out and out hit the Ladyjacks on their way to a 3-0 win.  The games were close, 25-22, 25-19, 25-22 but the Tetons got the lead in all three sets and never looked back.  The teams both played well defensively with the Tetons just hitting the ball for kills a few more times then the Ladyjacks.

DCB was lead by freshman right side Ashlynn Starry who picked up a season high 8 kills. Thats a big number especially considering she was called upon to set from the front row in the first two games.  The Ladyjacks have been slowly working her into the setting rotation.  "She has really good hands and I think can become a good setter.  With her size it is a nice advantage to have someone that can hit and set from the front row", explained Head Coach Mike Smith.  Fellow freshman Michelle Krahn and Lexi Gullett picked up 5 kills each. Sophomore Abbey Franklin was the top passer with 11 assists.  Sarah Marshall added two service aces.

Defensively the Ladyjacks were able to get both Freshman Liberos Marshall and Karrien Marteniuk into the game as Marshall started all three games at Libero and Marteniuk played regularly as a defensive specialist.  It lead to an improved back line as Marshall picked up 17 digs and Marteniuk added 10.  Krahn added a season high 11 digs as the Ladyjacks, when healthy, have played good defensive volleyball.  Krahn and Gullett each added two blocks.

The Ladyjacks will take on the Mondak conferences best team, NDSCS, at home on Wednesday and then will host Miles City in a must-win game Thursday if they have any hope of advancing to the Mondak playoffs.  Both Games start at 7:00pm at the Woodshed.
