The Ladyjack volleyball team is stuck at a familiar number, 4.  Thats the number of wins they have earned so far this season matching the number of wins they had all last year.  They tried for #5 last night but lost in three straight sets 25-19, 25-18, and 25-21 to Assiniboine Community College of Brandon, Manitoba.

DCB committed 13 serve receive errors, an area of strength earlier in the year.  Freshman middle Amy Stolz continued to lead at the net with 3 blocks.  Freshman Michelle Krahn lead the team in kills with 5 while Freshman Kiara Hamel and Ashlynn Starry added 4 each.  Freshman Karrien Marteniuk, thrust into the starting Libero role due to injuries to Sarah Marshall and Quinn Billaney, picked up an impressive 15 digs.

The team heads out for Montana Thursday with 2 huge conference games vs Miles Community College (Thursday Oct. 4) and Dawson Community College (Friday Oct. 5).  Both games are at 7:00pm local time.

DCB sits at 1-4 in the Mondak conference while Miles City is at 0-5 and Dawson is 2-4.  Williston is at 0-6.  It is likely that two of these four will move on to the Mondak Playoffs October 24.  Bismarck, NDSCS and Lake Region seem to have taken hold of the three automatic berths leaving the rest to fight for the two spots left.  These two teams will play a play-in game on the 24th with the winner advancing to the Mondak conference torunament at the home of the team finishing with the best record.

Taking a look around the Mondak conference stat leaders:  Michelle Krahn is 12th in the conference in Kills per set with 1.82.  Quinn Billaney is 10th in digs per set with 3.37.  Ashlynn Starry is 15th in hitting percentage at .205 while Krahn is 16th at .188.  Amy Stolz is 13th in blocks per set with 0.75 wile Lexi Gullett cracked the top 20 at number 20 with 0.55.  Jayda Kinistino is 12th in Service Aces per set at 0.31.  Abbey Franklin is 9th in Assists per set at 9.32.
