Jacks fall to #13 Bismarck State College

The DCB volleyball team started slow but gave the Nationally ranked Bismarck State College Mystics a challenge in sets 2 and 3.

The Ladyjacks (4-14) lost to Bismarck (18-1) in straight sets but battled hard, in particular in the final two sets.  DCB lost the opener 25-9 showing why the Mystics are the 13th ranked team in Division II volleyball. The Mystics, controlled the net and pounded away at the Ladyjacks from all angles.  In the second set the Ladyjacks actually lead 7-2 early, eventually falling 25-15.  The third set was much of the same.  The Jacks pushed the Mystics but were unable to generate enough offense falling 25-16.

statistically the Ladyjacks were only able to earn 11 kills against the tough Bismarck blockers.  Michelle Krahn, Kiara Hamel and Rebecca Helmeczi all had 3 kills each.  Libero Sarah Marshall picked up 14 of the teams 32 digs.

The Ladyjacks will try to avenge a loss to Assiniboine Community College at home on Tuesday.  The Canadian squad won Friday night 3-0 and the Ladyjacks are looking forward to the re-match at home where they have played much better as of late.  Game time is 7:00pm.
