Williston State was supposed to win Wednesday's MONDAK conference volleyball match in Bottineau Wednesday night.  They had won 22 straight dating back to 2012.  But someone forgot to tell the young Ladyjacks as they rolled to a 3-1 win defeating the Tetons 25-20, 25-16, 21-25, and 25-15.  The win improves DCB to 1-3 in conference and drops the Tetons to 0-4.  The Woodshed was loud and boisterous as it has been for the previous two home tilts.  The Ladyjacks gave the crowd a lot to cheer about as they blocked ferociously and continuously snuffed out the Teton attack.  Head Coach Mike Smith was thrilled with the win.  " We had two great practises Monday and Tuesday and i am so proud of how we battled tonight.  Easily the best volleyball we have played this year!"

DCB owned the net, something they have done well recently, but on this night it was an obvious advantage for DCB. Freshman Middle Amy Stolz had 5.5 blocks not including numerous blocks that forced Williston to go around her.  She added 4 kills and an ace.  Sophomore Rebecca Halmeczi added 4 blocks adding to DCB's 14 blocks.  Freshman Libero Sarah Marshall had her best match of her young career picking up 15 digs, wowing the crowd with her ability to keep the ball off the floor at all costs.

DCB passed with precision lead by sophomore setter Abbey Franklin who picked up 23 assists.  This put her over the 500 mark for her career as she needed 9 assists to reach that mark.   " The key to the win was working together as a unit and having 100% trust in one another.  We were also very consistent throughout the whole match and limited our mistakes", stated Franklin.

Offensively the Ladyjacks were lead by Michelle Krahn's 12 kills but it was a total team effort as 9 different players had at least one kill.

Freshman local product Lexi Gullett was outstanding for the second straight match before going down with a shoulder injury late in the second set.  "Gullett, Stolz and Rebecca (Helmeczi) completely controlled the net tonight.  They were dominant and they are so full of confidence confidence right now.  It was a good night!,"  added Smith.
