The Ladyjack Volleyball team swept Trinity Bible College 3-0 on Friday night in Ellendale.
DCB got out to a quick start winning the first set 25-8. 6 different players picked up kills totalling 10 for the game and 6 different players added assists. Freshman Jalen Shepherd picked up 3 aces.
DCB captured the second set 25-17 lead by Shepherds season high 7 kills. Trinity put up more of a fight in set two and the Ladyjacks responded with 25 digs lead by freshman Libero Karrien Marteniuk's 7. Sophomore setter Abbey franklin had 5 digs as well as 4 assists.
The Ladyjacks trailed early in the third set and after a time-out down 13-11 DCB didn't panic and eventually took the lead cruising to a 25-16 win. Ashlynn Starry starting at setter for the first time added 8 assists playing from the back row. Franklin picked up 6 assists. 7 different players picked up kills lead by freshman Taryn Roberts' 5. Freshman Kiara Hamel picked up an impressive 7 kills out of the back row.
DCB improved to 3-11 while Trinity fell to 1-12. DCB is back on the road Sunday September 23 for a neutral site game in Devil's Lake against Dakota Technical College. Game time is 3:00pm.
