Ladyjacks drop 3 sets to top ranked NDSCS

The Ladyjack volleyball team made the long trip to Wahpeton for a weekday match against a powerful NDSCS team.  The drive home was just as long as DCB dropped all three sets by scores of 25-10, 25-14 and 25-20.  NDSCS used a hard hitting attack combined with a tenacious defense to defeat the visitors.  Freshman Libero Sarah Marshall lead the Ladyjacks defensively with 14 digs while fellow freshman Ashlynn Starry and Michelle Krahn each had 5 kills on the offensive side.

Marshall picked up most of the court time at Libero after Sophomore Captain and Libero Quinn Billaney was injured in practise.  Billaney will be out for an extended period leaving the already young Ladyjacks with just two sophomores.

DCB (2-11) will hit the road again this weekend with a match in Ellendale Friday night at 6:00pm versus Trinity Bible College (1-9) and a Sunday neutral site match in Devil's Lake against Dakota Technical College (7-4).  Game time for that one is 3:00pm.
