DCB Women's Volleyball kicked off the 2018-19 athletic season on Tuesday night with their first practice under new coach Mike Smith.   11 players participated with four more expected to be joining the team in the next few days.

The team has an abundance of talent and has good size with five players at the 5'10-5'11' range.   Returning players Abby Franklin (Deloraine, MB), Rebecca Helmeczi (Esterhazy, SK) and Quinn Billaney (Boissevain, MB) were solid in their return to the Woodshed.   Ashlynn Starry (Frisco, Texas) and local Bottineau grad Lexi Gullett stood out amongst a very good group of freshman.

Coach Smith -  "I thought the first day of practice went as well as I could have imagined.  We have a lot of talent here.  We will work the next few days getting back into playing shape and getting ready to travel to Minot to take on MSU.  I am very excited to get things started and get to work on putting a team on the floor that can be successful!"

The Lady Jacks will practice at 3:30pm and 7:00pm Wednesday August 8th and 3:00pm Thursday August 9th before heading to Minot for a 12 noon scrimmage against the MSU Beavers.
