Mike Smith named Volleyball and Softball Coach

Mike Smith has been named the new head volleyball and softball coach at DCB.  Smith, a resident of Regina, Saskatchewan formerly coached softball at the University of Regina where he guided the Cougars for 11 years from 2006-2016.  In that time he compiled a 111-54-2 record and won 3 medals at the Canadian Collegiate Softball Association National Championships. (Silver in 2010 and 2014 and Bronze in 2016) .  He has coached baseball and softball for over 30 years in both Saskatchewan and Ontario.  

His most recent volleyball experience consisted of serving as head coach of the Vibank Vandals 15U club team and the Head Coach of the Vibank High School Varsity team, where in 2017 they came within one set of qualifying for its first ever volleyball provincial championship appearance.

Smith will also serve as Sports Information Director for DCB.  Mike has experience in Sports Info, serving as the sports information lead for Track and field at the 2005 Canada Games and composing all media related and website content for the University of Regina softball program during his time as head coach. 

He has a Bachelors degree in Physical Education and served previously as well as a middle and high school teacher in Saskatchewan.
