Ladyjacks Fall to Dawson CC

Bottineau, ND - Dakota College at Bottineau women's volleyball team fell to conference opponent, Dawson Community College. Every set was a battle but the Ladyjacks ended up losing the 3-set contest (17-25, 23-25, and 22-25).

In the first set, the Lady Bucs jumped out to a quick lead that was answered by DCB. The Lady Bucs ended the set with a big run closing out the Ladyjacks. In the last two sets, it was a battle back and forth to the finish. Dawson CC ended up making a few more plays to win each set. DCB knew it was going to be a really tough test after losing Ryah Young, knee, and Samantha Cullen, ankle. Coach Scherr was really impressed with her team's effort and the way they played after those two impact players went down.

The Ladyjacks were led offensively by Victoria Obergfell with 14 kills. She also added 13 assists. Abbey Franklin tallied 13 assists as well setting up numerous Ladyjacks. Vic and Quinn Billaney had 16 and 15 digs defending off Dawson's attack. Rebecca Helmeczi was able to block 2 kill attempts on her own. DCB falls to 1-10 on the season and 1-5 in the Mon-Dak.

The Ladyjacks are in Mon-Dak action again on Sunday, October 1st. They travel to Devil's Lake, ND to take on Lake Region State College. The game time is set for 1:00 PM at Steetwater Elementary. The game can be watched at this link: http://www.lrscroyals.com/broadcast/wfy5vn
