Ladyjacks Fall in Regular Season Finale

The DCB Ladyjacks Basketball team dropped their regular season finale to the Williston State Tetons by a score of 76-42.

Both offenses struggled to get going early. Jacie Hall got the Ladyjacks on the board first a minute and fifteen seconds into the game. The Tetons didn't get on the board until 3:08 remaining in the first quarter. Turnovers and a rough shooting quarter hurt the Ladyjacks. DCB shot just 33% from the field and committed nine turnovers. The Ladyjack defense did hold the Tetons to just 27% shooting from the field in the first quarter. WSC finished the quarter on an 8-3 run. The shooting struggles and turnovers continued for DCB in the second quarter as they shot just 30% and committed 8 turnovers. Of the Tetons' 39 first half points 28 of them came off DCB turnovers. At the half WSC led 39-16.

The Ladyjack had a better shooting quarter in the third as they shot 43% from the field, Alex St Pierre led the offensive attack with 5 points including a 3-pointer. After three quarters the Tetons led the Ladyjacks 56-27. DCB was able to cut down on the turnovers in the fourth committing just two in the quarter but the Tetons shot 73% from the field in the quarter to win the quarter 20-14 and by a final score of 76-42.

Alyssa St Pierre and Koylynn Gulliford each scored 12 points to lead the Ladyjacks. Jacie Hall joined them in double-figures with 10 points. Canzas Hisbadhorse led all scorers with 16 points off the bench.

The Ladyjacks finish the regular season 6-24 overall and 0-21 in the Mon-Dak. Postseason play gets underway this coming weekend. DCB will take on Gogebic Community College Saturday at 2:00p.m. in Bismarck. The winner of that game will play United Tribes in the Region 13 Championship game Sunday at 2:00p.m.
