Thunderbirds Shoot Past Ladyjacks

The United Tribes Thunderbirds would hit 15 three pointers to defeat the DCB Ladyjacks 89-80.

The Ladyjack offense got rolling early and jumped out to a 12-5 lead. Turnovers would bite DCB late in the quarter and allow UTTC to cut the lead to three at the quarter break DCB was leading 23-20. A 4-0 run allowed the Ladyjacks to stretch their lead back to seven at 27-20. The turnovers became an issue again and the Thunderbird offense got going. UTTC would finish the first half on a 31-10 run to take a 51-37 halftime lead. The Thunderbirds knocked down seven 3's in the first half whereas DCB was 0/11 from beyond the arc. Jacie Hall would pace the Ladyjacks in the first half with 20 points.

The Thunderbirds continued their offensive run in the second half starting the third quarter on a 12-2 run to stretch their lead to 63-39. The Ladyjacks were able to get the deficit down to sixteen at the end of the third quarter at 73-57. DCB would use the three ball to attempt a late game rally. Koylynn Gulliford and Sabra Peterson would each knocked down three 3-pointers but the rally would fall short as UTTC would win by the final score of 89-80.

Jacie Hall led the Ladyjacks with 31 points. and 13 rebounds. She was joined in double-figures by Koylynn Gulliford and Alyssa St Pierre with 15 points each. St Pierre added 12 rebounds. Myona Dauphinais scored 31 to lead UTTC.

With the loss DCB falls to 6-23 overall and 0-20 in the Mon-Dak. The Ladyjacks close out the regular season Sunday at Williston State College. Game time is set for 1:00p.m.
