Shorthand Ladyjacks Battle with Nationally Ranked Wildcats

With only five available players the  Ladyjack basketball team battled with #22 NDSCS before falling by a final score of 99-69.

The Wildcats used an early 14-2 to take a 21-6 lead. The DCB offense began to heat up and were able to cut into the Wildcat lead after one quarter NDSCS led 25-18. The Ladyjack offense ran through Jacie Hall as she scored 20 first half points. Sabra Peterson would also knock down three 3-pointers in the second quarter.  An 11-2 over the course of the first and second quarter allowed DCB to cut the Wildcat lead to just one at 27-26. NDSCS would finish the half one a 19-12 run to take a 46-38 lead into the locker-room.

The Wildcats opened the second half on a 15-2 run to push their lead to 21 at 61-40. The shorthanded Ladyjacks continued to battle but 12 second half turnovers proved to be costly. Hall would score 13 second half points to pace the Jacks Alexa St Pierre would knock down a pair of 3's and score 8 points in the half. In the end NDSCS would win by a final score of 99-69.

Jacie Hall led all scorers with a career high 33 points. She was joined in double figures by three Ladyjacks. Sabra Peterson and Alexa St Pierre each had 11 points and knocked down three 3-pointers each. Alyssa St Pierre added in 10 points. Grace Massaquoi led the Wildcats with 24 points.

With the loss DCB falls to 6-17 overall and 0-14 in the Mon-Dak. The Ladyjacks host Lake Region State College Monday with game time set for 5:30p.m. as part of Smokey's Week.
