First Half Struggles Doom Ladyjacks

The Bismarck State College Mystics held the Dakota College at Bottineau Ladyjacks to just 20 first half points and a 26% field goal percentage to take full control of the game going on to win by a final score of 88-65.

The Ladyjacks struggled to get the offense going in the first quarter shooting just 3-14 from the field and 1-5 from beyond the arc. Alyssa St Pierre knocked down the lone 3-pointer in the quarter and had five of DCB's nine points in the quarter. Six Ladyjack turnovers resulted in quick baskets for the Mystics after one quarter BSC led 18-9. Thing were very much the same in the second quarter Alyssa St Pierre still had the hot hand for the Ladyjacks knocking down two more three pointers. The Ladyjacks again struggled taking care of the basketball in the second ten minutes with eight turnovers. At the half the Mystics held a 36-20 lead.

In the second half the DCB offense was able to find their stride scoring the ball and cut down on the turnoivers. The Ladyjacks were able to shoot 47% from the field coming out of the halftime break. Jacie Hall had 11 points in the quarter to lead the Ladyjacks. DCB was able to keep their offense going in the fourth quarter. All six Ladyjacks were able to net at least one basket in the quarter, but the deficit was to much as Bismarck State would go on to win by a final score of 88-65.

Jacie Hall led the Ladyjacks with 22 points and 11 rebounds for her 11th double-double of the season. She was joined in double-figures by Alyssa St Pierre who finished with 15 points and pulled down 9 rebounds. Lexie Nelson finished with a season high eight points. Ashton Kinnebrew led the Mystics asnd all scorers with 23 points.

With the loss the Ladyjacks fall to 6-12 overall and 0-9 in the Mon-Dak. DCB travels to Lake Region State College Wednesday night, game time is set for 6:30p.m.
