Ladyjacks Take Control

On Monday night, the Ladyjacks squared of with United Tribes Technical College Thunderbirds. This game featured a crucial matchup for both teams, as a win by the Ladyjacks would give them a six-game lead in the standings with one round of conference play let. If the Thunderbirds wanted a real chance, this was a must win game for them to trip and slip back into contention in the standings.

In the first match up of the season, the Ladyjacks won 63-54, a game which saw Maria Moore dominate the floor with having 20 points and 15 rebounds. In this game, the Thunderbirds were able to slow down Moore, only allowing her to score 10 points; however, it was a full team effort in which helped lead the Ladyjacks to victory.

In the first quarter, the Ladyjacks came out and jumped up 26-12 on the road, taking the Thunderbirds crowd right out of it. Going into halftime the Ladyjacks led 43-28. The only quarter that the Thunderbirds outscored the Ladyjacks was in the third however, both teams would play even (both scoring 15) in the fourth. The Ladyjacks came away with a 69-60 victory.

This time around, the Ladyjacks had nine different players get in on the scoring action. Jacie Hall and Maria Moore scored in double figures and three players scored nine points (Haylie Conradsen, Jaidyn Brummond, and Koylynn Gulliford).

Up next for the Ladyjacks will be against North Dakota School of Science Wildcats on Thursday night at the Woodshed. The game with Nueta Hidatsa Sahnish Community College Storm is postponed and a date to be rescheduled has not been determined yet
